Seneca Saves the Day!

It was a warm day in the Dryhead, and Hickok’s mares were grazing near water. The two dun mares Seneca and Hightail had been together for a while, and more independent than the younger mares Kitalpha and Nova. When Hightail crossed the river, so did Seneca, but Kitalpha and Nova did not.

When Kitalpha realized her mistake, she tried to cross the river. However, she soon found it was too steep and Kitalpha lead her daughter back up the bank. Kitalpha was agitated. It was clear she wanted to be with her friends, but she didn’t know how to get there.

Kitalpha bravely starts down the bank.

Hightail was still grazing on the opposite bank, but Seneca was nowhere to be found. Kitalpha and Nova continued to graze, but a flash of dun caught my eye. Somehow, Seneca crossed the river near Kitalpha and Nova. Immediately Kitalpha settled, and the three mares walked deeper into vegetation to graze. All Seneca did was cross a river, but she had ultimately saved Kitalpha’s day.

Seneca found somewhere to cross the river.
